Body Fitness: Putting It First In Your Life

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Diet and Nutrition, Fitness, Low Carb Diet

The human body is considered fit if its mental and physical health are good. This means strictly following proper habits, diet, and exercise, and dealing with everyday stresses. You should nurture your body with proper nutrition to function well and stay healthy. Important minerals, vitamins, and foods must be provided to achieve overall fitness. Keep in mind that good spiritual, mental, and physical health is the real meaning of fitness.

Body fitness occurs if all the processes of the body associated with mental and physical state are functioning at their peak levels. However, this is not only a one day task. It does not necessarily mean going to the gym every now and then or simply taking a walk in the park. There are several factors that must be considered when talking about body fitness. Daily necessities as well as body conditioning are needed.

Available resources must be used wisely. Educating yourself about bodily needs for maintaining a fit body is also important. If you have an unhealthy body, you need to dig deeply for the causes. In fact, becoming fit again is not easy as you could discover that what actually makes you unfit is several years of body abuse from bad habits, poor nutrition, and lack of physical exercise.

Physical exercise absolutely helps the body to become strong. All parts of your body need to function as a whole. Therefore, the absence of one factor can cause you to fail in your entire fitness goals. Take for instance; you only focus on maintaining your weight and meeting cardiovascular needs. You forget that your body is not just composed of your heart. All your other organs should also be functioning well. Body fitness is not only achieving a beautiful figure but replenishing what was depleted from the body due to daily activities. Physical exercises should benefit your entire body.

You should also know the difference between wellness and fitness since some have misconceptions about it. Being well and being fit are entirely different and have exclusive conditions, but both are essential in maintaining vitality and health. A fitness counselor or licensed fitness instructor at a local club or gym can test your fitness levels, while wellness is determined by optimum functioning of your immune systems, usually tested by your physician.

The body maintains its balance if both fitness and wellness are at their maximum levels. Generally, nutritional intake affects the ability of the mind, body, and staying well. If this is combined with healthy eating, clean living, and regular exercise, then it will result in total wellness and fitness. Remember that giving proper attention to the physical needs of every body part should result in total body fitness. Never forget that these parts are working in unison with one another.

Your physical body has the ability to work better than any man-made machine. It’s more powerful and complex, thus it can take more abuse yet continue to operate even under extreme stress or fatigue. But if you put body fitness first in your life, then your body can work tremendously well, increasing your lifespan and your quality of life.

A Simple Explanation of Soda Water For Health And Fitness

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Diet and Nutrition, Fitness, Low Carb Diet

Soda Water is a good, refreshing drink for health and fitness, because it is always totally free of carbohydrates and sugars.

Soda water, or sparkling water, is a carbonated water — that is, plain water to which carbon dioxide gas has been added. Most “soft drinks” and “pop” have It as the principal ingredient. Carbonic acid — soda pop — results from the process of carbonation.

By using a seltzer bottle filled with water and then “charged” with carbon dioxide, soda water (also called club soda) can be produced right at home. Club soda is often just the same as plain carbonated water; however, in some instances, it can have a small amount of table salts, as well as sodium trace minerals. Such additives make the taste of home made slightly salty. This process often produces carbonated mineral water and occurs naturally in many areas.

A little dental decay might sometimes be caused by sparkling mineral water. Sparkling water’s potential affects on dental problems are somewhat greater than with normal water, but not dramatically so. Drinkers of regular soft drinks risk a higher rate of tooth decay compared to drinking sparkling water. The rate is so low it suggests that carbonation may not be a factor in causing dental decay.

Water coming from the ground - usually from artesian wells - is often filtered among layers of minerals; these layers contain forms of carbonates, and the water absorbs the carbon dioxide gas released by the carbonates. This water is known as natural sparkling water. On occasions when the water also picks up enough different minerals to become flavored, it becomes sparkling mineral water.

Fundamentally, soda water is just water and carbon dioxide. Sparkling mineral water is a natural result of carbonation. 1794 was the year that a jeweler invented a device to produce an artificial carbonated mineral water.

Perrier, a sparkling natural mineral water, was judged to keep its fizz the longest in a taste test of several carbonated drinks;.

Consumers feeling seltzer to be a bit harsh will find club soda to have a more gentle fizz. During the taste test, club soda seemed to be milder, as well as a little sweeter, than standard carbonated water.

Club soda, sparkling mineral water, seltzer, and carbonated water have zero calories, making them a dieter’s choice over soda pop and tonic water.

If one mixes water, sugar, carbon dioxide and quinine, the carbonated result is called tonic water. Quinine’s first use in tonic water was medicinal — as an additive to help cure or prevent malaria. Today it is often used in combination with gin and lemon or lime to make an alcoholic drink.

These are just a few of the facts and names used for soda water.

Metatarsal Problems with Healthy People

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Diet and Nutrition, Fitness, Low Carb Diet

Metatarsal fractures range from very minor to severe injuries. It depends on the pattern of injury and the amount of displacement of the fracture. Metatarsal stress fractures were first described in 1855 and termed “march fractures” since they commonly occurred in military recruits.

Bone is composed of a network of collagen fibres impregnated with mineral salts (largely calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate), a combination that gives it great density and strength, comparable in some cases with that of reinforced concrete. Enclosed within this solid matrix are bone cells, blood vessels, and nerves. Bone gives our bodies support and structure, it protects our many vital organs and it acts as a reservoir for the important minerals we need every day. Let’s say we start to work out at the gym.

Jones fracture : These metatarsal fractures sometimes take a longer time to heal. A stress fracture can be treated with a removable cast boot or cast worn for 6 to 8 weeks. Jones fractures are caused by overuse, repetitive stress, or trauma. They are less common and more difficult to treat than avulsion fractures, specially with fracture of the distal second metatarsal .

Fractures of the base of the fifth Metatarsal are the most common fifth Metatarsal injuries, and occur as a result of a twisting injury of the foot or ankle. The ankle rolls inward and there is a strong ligament that attaches to the base of the Metatarsal which pulls off a small bone fragment. Fractures in Zone I are typically avulsion type fractures, wherein a small fragment of bone is broken off the proximal end of the bone. Zone II fractures involve an area of the bone a little more distal (or toward the toes), and most typically appear as horizontal or transverse fractures. Fracture of the fifth metatarsal is the most common metatarsal injuries. This results from the twisting of the ankle.

Some Misconceptions Related To Cholesterol

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Diet and Nutrition, Fitness, Low Carb Diet

One of the most common myths surrounding cholesterol is that each and every food that contains high fatty content will affect your health adversely. However, not all dietary fats are the same and in fact, in this regard you will need to distinguish between saturated fatty and non-saturated fatty acids. In addition, there are mono-saturated fatty acids to contend with as well.

There no doubts the fact that saturated fatty acids will cause increase in fat in a person’s blood and adds to the bad cholesterol or LDL (low density lipoproteins). On the other hand poly-unsaturated and mono-saturated fatty acids have the opposite effect of the fact they reduce grease in the blood of a person and moreover they decrease bad cholesterol as well.

Not Good For Your Body

Another common myth is that cholesterol is not good for your body; however, it is a required (and, essential) ingredient that keeps a person’s body functioning normally and it is also found in membranes of living cells. Cholesterol also helps to prevent from entering the dangerous chemicals and it also does not make it possible components of cells to leave the cells; moreover, it is also essential with the formation of the sex hormones of a person as well as bile salts.

The majority of the people also believe in an erroneous way that by consuming the vitamins E and C they can lower the level of cholesterol in their bodies. However, this is not true and nor is there any evidence that supports such a way of thinking. The myth that it is the sole reason why plaque builds up in a person’s arteries is false and needs to be debunked.

In fact, the plate is generally caused because of a known amino-acid under the name of homocyst?ine which however made adhere cholesterol molecules to him what alternatively attracts more these molecules and thus, plate is formed.

It is also commonly believed that high levels of cholesterol will make a person feel sick. In fact, there are no true symptom or obvious sign to state a person that the levels of cholesterol in their body are high side. The only way to determine whether or not such levels are high is through having a lipid profile taken.

It is also wrong to believe that high cholesterol levels are only found in the blood of old people. However, keeping a close check on these levels is vital to enjoying safe and good health. Our lives today are filled much more pressure that the case did not take place only a few decades ago and this made suffer even from young adults of the elevated levels of cholesterol in their blood. Keeping tabs on the amount of cholesterol present in your blood is a good means of controlling the situation and ensuring good health.

The benefits of Graviola has been with us for several years now, but it has only been recent that this Amazonian fruit tree is really discovered for its health benefits.

Graviola is a helpful tree from tropical areas like the Amazon; it’s leaves is potent against terminal diseases. For years, graviola had gone publically unacknowledged as a cancer intervention behind the thresholds of a certain unnamed pharmaceutic company. Graviola may just allow for the service you’ve been looking for that could make all the difference in ticking malignant neoplastic disease. Graviola is not only helpful in combating cancer, it is also helpful to anehilate bacteria, fungi, and internal parasites. But because of its anti-microbial properties, long term use may result to killing the more friendly bacteria as well.

Now the following part is important to understand:

Graviola tree demonstrated active antiparasitic attributes in a 1993 study, and its leaf extract showed to be potent against malaria in two other studies (in 1989 and 1992). The leaves, stem, and seeds of graviola demonstrated insecticidal properties, with the seeds evidencing strong insecticidal activity in an early 1930 study. Graviola tea is helpful to drink every day in order to elevate modality and increase the quality of life. Native-born tribes of the Brazilian Jungle used to lay crushed leaves around beds and pillowcases to have a good sleep. Graviola is a small, upright evergreen tree growing 5 to 6 meters in height with large dark green and glossy leaves. It is indigenous to most of the warm tropical areas in South and North America including the Amazon; they can also be found in Asia.

Because of the proven health benefits of Graviola, the importance of preserving rainforests is given another boost. Perhaps—if enough people believe that the possible cure for cancer truly is locked away in a rainforest plant— hopefuly we will take the steps needed to protect our remaining rainforests from demolition. Graviola is native to warm tropical areas in the Americas, including the Amazon. It produces a 6-to-9 inch, heart shaped edible fruit, yellow green in color, with white flesh. Graviola (Annona Muricata) extract  has a long history of use by Indigenous people of the Amazon River Basin where all parts of the graviola tree (bark, leaves, yields, roots and seeds) are used for a variety of ailments. For instance, graviola express, taken orally or applied to the skin, is believed to alleviate muscle and joint pain.

Stymptoms Of Acid Reflux Disease

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Diet and Nutrition, Fitness, Low Carb Diet

At it’s most basic level acid reflux is when acid comes up from your stomach to your throat. It burns and can practically choke you if it is severe. But there is more to it then just that. Why this happens is because of the barrier between the stomach and esophagus fails. This allows the acid to move upwards towards your esophagus.

Things To Look For

The main acid reflux symptom is severe heartburn that won’t go away. The first place you will feel the pain is in the chest area. It can be so severe that you could mistaken it for being a heart attack. It is very common to feel burning in the stomach and for some in the throat too. At it’s worst it will last a couple hours.

Those are just some of the most common acid reflux symptoms. You may also feel full in the stomach, discomfort after eating, discomfort laying down, and discomfort when bending over.

Some people may also experience GERD. GERD is when you have trouble swallowing, sore throat, chest pains, and even constant hiccups. GERD and acid reflux often go together for many who suffer from them.

How To Treat And Cure Acid Reflux

There are many types of acid reflux medications that work and many natural remedies that work even better. We will take a look at both medications and remedies that you can try at home.

Nexium oral is often used to treat people who have severe acid reflux. What it does is simply block acid production in the stomach. There is a good chance that this won't work as well as you would like. In many cases acid reflux is caused by the fact your stomach is not producing enough acid. As you can see this may make your condition even worse

Prevacid oral works more or less the same as Nexium. It simply block your stomach from producing even more acid. This has the potential to create problems depending on what is causing your acid reflux.

Now were going to take a look at a couple good natural remedies. I recommend that you try vinegar first. When most people hear vinegar they think I’m nuts, but your really need to try it for yourself. I recommend that you take about one teaspoon for it.

The second natural remedy that I recommend for you to try is baking soda and water. The baking soda can give your stomach some added juice to help it break down your foods and sooth your stomach.

Easy Ways to Stop Acid Reflux

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Diet and Nutrition, Fitness, Low Carb Diet

Acid reflux disease is the upflowing of acid from the stomach to the throat. What you get in return is severe burning and discomfort. Heartburn can be caused by the foods that you eat, stress, digestion problems, poor eating habits, and many other reasons. Today were going to look at simple ways to stop acid reflux and it’s painful symptoms.

Changing Your Diet

This is the first place you should start at. Your diet will often effect your condition more then anything else. What foods does your stomach not get along with? What foods are you eating that can help reduce acid reflux?

This will sound like commone sense, but people have a tendency to eat foods that don't agree with them. It's important that you learn to stop eating spicy foods, greasy foods, and drinking alcoholic beverages. You should start eating foods that do prevent acid reflux. I recommend that you stay with veggies and fruits with very little amounts of acid.

Poor Eating Habits

What you eat is only part of finding a good natural cure for acid reflux. There are also other poor eating habits. One of the worst eating habits is eating meals that are very large. Try eating less at a time and eating more often. This can help reduce the amount of acid that your stomach is producing.

Another problem many people have is chewing to fast and not breaking down their food. Smaller bites are better and chewing your food really well is a must. Never eat before you go to bed. Give your stomach at least 3 hours to digest it’s food before you sleep.

Natural Remedies

It would be hard for me to right this article without including a few good natural remedies. There are a number of options available to you. I'm going to give you three of the best natural remedies.

The first remedy is apple cider vinegar. This is the most well known remedy and it really is the most effective. It is very fast and won't cost you very much. All you need to do is take one teaspoon full.

Chamomile is a wonderful herb that has helped many with their acid relfux and heatburn. The best way to get this herb is to simply drink it in tea form. You might have to do some looking, but you should be able to find some around.

This isn't much of remedy, but it is a cure that will help many put an end to acid reflux. What you need to do is remove as much stress from your life as you possibly can. You may even have to take some lessons in time management.

As recent as 10 to 20 years ago it was not common for women to be in the gym and in the weight room doing weight training. Women were commonly associated with other exercises such as aerobic, walking and others.

However today, women are sitting next to men doing workouts training using weight. Weight training helps women to develop a nice curvy body muscle and also to trim off the unwanted fat and to achieve the overall health and fitness for the whole body.

Women’s Weight Training

Weight training is a very effective way for women to burn off the fat. It becomes more powerful in combination with a low calorie diet intake. The growth of the new muscle will help to burn more calories.

Tips On Finding An Acid Reflux Cure

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Diet and Nutrition, Fitness, Low Carb Diet

There are many options available to those who suffer from acid reflux and want to cure it. There are many medications at the pharmacy, many prescriptions available, and even some good natural remedies that work. In this article were going to look at some acid reflux cures that you may want to consider.

How To Prevent Acid Reflux

The best acid reflux cure is always the one that can help you prevent it in the first place. This does require many changes in your overall lifestyle. Although these are small changes they are hard ones to make. Changing your diet is very important, quite smoking, and laying off heavy amounts of alchoholic beverages are also very important.

These are really just the start of it all. You may find eating smaller meals, not eating before you go to bed, and avoiding tight clothing to all help a great deal. Eating before you go to bed is a surefire way to bring on your acid reflux. I won't eat after 7:00pm. I recommend that you try something similar.

Avoid Certain Foods

There is no doubt that certain foods trigger acid reflux in certain people. These foods must be avoided. This isn’t easy if you like a certain food, but that food doesn’t like you. You have to be tough and avoid those foods that your stomach doesn't play nice with.

There are certain foods that are known to trigger heartburn and acid reflux. A few are: oranges, lemons, red meat, greasy foods, diary, onion, and just about any acid based foods.

Natural Remedies For Acid Reflux

I really like natural remedies as a treatment for many illnesses. There are lots and lots of really good options for a nasty acid reflux attack. Some remedies will work before meals, others after meals, and some will work at any time heartburn comes up.

The first remedy that I like is vinegar. I have been using this one for several years with success. All you need to do is take a teaspoon of vinegar whenever you feel like your acid reflux is going to flair up. It blow your mind at just how well this remedy can work.

Ginger is a great herb that is known to help people with heartburn and acid reflux. You can easily apply this too your food to add some flavor. A really great option is to add ginger to your tea.

Baking soda and water is another common remedy. One glass with your meal and it will give you that soothing effect that you look for. This probably won’t work for everyone, but it is worth trying.

Cutting Edge Ionic Air Purifier Technology - Sharp’s Plasmacluster Ions Kill Bird Flu Virus

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Diet and Nutrition, Fitness, Low Carb Diet

On 27 August 2008, Sharp Corporation issued a press release that may someday be recognised as the true beginning of mankind’s war against bird flu! Incorporated in its ionic air purifier, the Plasmacluster Ion Technology (more on this in a later post) has just been scientifically proven to be 99.9% effective in destroying the bird flu virus known as H5N1.

With increasing regularity, the press reminds us that bird flu is the prime suspect to cause mankind’s next pandemic. Pandemic sounds terrifying. It is. That’s when a deadly virus turns totally global, in a very negative sense. The 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 50 million people worldwide is the worst pandemic in human history! World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed on 5 October 2005 that the 1918 Spanish flu was caused by H1N1, a bird flu virus.

If fear is gripping you right now, is it time to PANIC?

Not just yet. The H5N1 virus was identified in China in 1996. Up to 10 Sep 2008, WHO data puts the death toll at 245, a “relatively small number” statistically. So what’s the fuss? A bird flu virus that attains human-to-human transmission capability is the ultimate horror of the scientific community. To the knowledge of WHO, there has been only one probable case of human-to-human transmission recorded in Thailand in September 2004. If indeed the much-feared virus mutation takes place, you can expect pandemonium on a global scale.

Quietly but conscientiously, many countries are preparing for the worse (more on this in a later post). At our individual level, we should start doing some homework too.

Ok, so what’s all this got to do with Sharp’s ionic air purifier. Isn’t it just another ionic air purifier? Yes, because it takes care of the usual pollutants (dust, dirt, smoke, dander, pollen, cuisine odors, pet odors, allergens etc) that contaminate the air that we breathe and live in. But if we can get protection from all these and more in one ionic air purifier, especially one that is a tested defense shield against a potentially deadly virus, why not? With Sharp’s Plasmacluster Ion Air Purifier, the whole complete package is promised.

Obviously, for the value-conscious, the next logical question would be “yes, that makes a whole lot of sense but at what cost”? At no extra cost, Sharp claims! Sharp asserts that it is cheaper than any other ordinary ionic air purifier when measured over 5 years. A case of over-delivering by Sharp? How is it possible in this nothing-is-for-free world?

It is entirely possible, says Sharp. For example, there is much better value for money in its Plasmacluster Ionic Air Purifier Model FP-N40CX as there is no filter replacement costs for the first 5 years. Upfront costs at US$399 for the Sharp model is higher than the typical competitor’s US$160. But the latter requires annual filter replacement costs of US$100, adding to a total cost of US$560 over 5 years.

Since I have only started on this study, I would greatly appreciate any feedback on the numbers quoted by Sharp. Just email me if you have actual data.

My next step will be to learn as much as I can about the Sharp Plasmacluster Ion Technology. Especially since bird flu is still not quite at pandemic proportions.

Join me in my quest. Personal panic does not fade. Recall the last disaster movie when you saw people with terror in their eyes, many with the famed N95 face mask covering their noses as they commute to work. But it was no movie but real life in motion in many Asian cities. Those who could not find the scarce N95 face mask could only pray that they were not the next victim of the near-pandemic scenario that swept across Asia. The year was 2003. SARS was a much dreaded acronym. The SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) virus started spreading in Asia and infected 8,096 people around the world, resulting in 774 fatalities. As always, being prepared is half the battle won.

Watch this space as we track exciting developments in our pursuit of safe, pure and clean air with nothing more than an ionic air purifier.
